Do the patterns include seam allowances?

The patterns include the necessary eases and hem allowances, but you always need to add 1 cm for seams. Any exceptions to this are stated separately.

The magazine is also published in a number of countries outside Finland. Will the clothes fit for example the European body type just as well as that of the Finns?

Our pattern-making system was developed on the basis of a German system and adapted to the measurements and fits dictated by changing fashions. We have made comparisons between size charts used in different countries and noticed that they are very similar. Comparison of patterns has not indicated any noticeable differences either. Children's size charts are usually based on the child's height, which of course can be easily measured.

Children have individual differences: some are slim, some a little stockier. Our patterns are usually made for the "regular" size range. We sometimes have patterns for slightly stockier or exceptionally slim children.
